HISTORY

The United Boerboel Club (UBC) was founded in 2023 by a group of Boerboel enthusiasts who wanted to create a community for breeders, owners, and lovers of the Boerboel breed. The UBC was formed with the goal of promoting and preserving the Boerboel breed, and supporting responsible breeding practices that maintain the breed’s unique characteristics and traits.

Since its inception, the UBC has grown to become a well-respected and influential organization within the Boerboel community. The UBC will be hosting numerous events, including breed shows, educational seminars, and social gatherings, and has worked closely with Boerboel breeders to promote the breed and encourage responsible breeding practices.

In addition to promoting the Boerboel breed, the UBC has also made a commitment to helping Boerboels in need. The UBC works with rescue organizations to find homes for Boerboels that have been abandoned or surrendered, and is dedicated to ensuring that every Boerboel has a loving, forever home.

BREED

The Boerboel, also known as the South African Mastiff, is a large, intelligent breed with a strong, muscular build and a calm, confident demeanor. Boerboels are known for their loyalty and protective nature, making them excellent guard dogs.

Boerboels have a short, thick coat that comes in a variety of colors, including red, brown, black, and brindle. They have a broad head with a strong jaw and a black mask on their face. Boerboels have a powerful, athletic build, with strong legs and a deep chest.

Boerboels are intelligent and easy to train, but can be stubborn at times. They require consistent, firm training and do best with a confident, experienced owner. Boerboels are generally good with children and other pets, but may be reserved or cautious with strangers.

The Boerboel breed has a long history dating back to South Africa in the 1600s. They were originally bred for farm work and protection, and were valued for their strength, intelligence, and loyalty. Today, Boerboels are still used as guard dogs and family pets, and are highly prized for their unique characteristics and traits.
